Vietnam War Veteran's Day

Updated: Apr 1

Today, we remember and honor the nearly 500,000 Marines who served our country during the Vietnam War.

From 1965 to 1973, some of the Marine Corps’ most storied battles and operations took place in Vietnam, including the siege of Khe Sanh, the Battle of Hue City, and Operation Starlite. The tactical and operational lessons the Marine Corps learned throughout the conflict proved the efficacy of the Marine Air Ground Task Force Model and influenced the Corps’ warfighting doctrine in the decades that followed.

Throughout the conflict, over 12,000 Marines were killed and 52,000 wounded, amounting to almost a third of all American causalities. Today, we pause to reflect on their courage and sacrifice.
