It was one year ago today that we first told you about Gustin, an online denim dealer that used a business model that focused on crowdsourcing. 365 days later and we've gotten an update from the brand, and it's expectedly easy on the eyes. The duo behind the San Francisco-based label—Josh Gustin and Stephen Powell— have introduced a new product into their arsenal of wares: a waxed cotton trucker jacket.
"Our goal has always been to make what we want to wear," says Powell. "As it got colder—well, really just cooler here in San Francisco—we sought out to make the perfect jacket to pair with raw denim." Inspired by the enduring appeal of the Levi's trucker jacket, Gustin's version has a slim cut and some thoughtful utilitarian features (like an extra carrying pocket up front). The jacket is sewn in 'Frisco and made from 13.5 oz waxed duck canvas in a dusty brown color, so you can pair it with your dark denim and avoid the whole 'Texas tuxedo' look. What a difference a year makes.
