Samurai 18 oz. S101AX Cowboy Denim Jacket

Introducing the “Indigo Plus” series from Samurai, a stripped-down overseas option that is focused on essential designs that will fade triumphantly over time. And what better way to introduce their offering than 2 classic pieces of old-school inspired workwear, ready to shine in any wardrobe?

The first is a pair of 18 oz S211AX Oversea Edition “Indigo Plus” Denim Jeans. Featuring a relaxed tapered fit, these 5-pocket jeans possess a slubby texture achieved through a weave consisting of a U.S cotton warp and a Japanese cotton weft, farmed by Samurai themselves.

In order to achieve a dramatic and lasting fade experience, the warp has been grand indigo yarn-dyed and then natural indigo over-dyed over 10 times. Oxidized iron buttons and copper rivets are all the hardware needed to keep the look and feel of these jeans authentic. Closed out with a chunky cowhide leather patch that was naturally dyed and then dried —before being hand polished –we aren’t sure if we’ve seen an accent get so much attention before.

The second item is the 18 oz S101AX “Indigo Plus” Cowboy Denim Jacket. Everyone knows the Levi’s Type I jacket but what do you know about the Lee version, set apart by its rounded, spade-shaped chest pocket? Coming in a slim fit and nailing the vintage pleated design, this proto-trucker is made using the same aforementioned dye technique, and takes advantage of oxidized buttons, copper rivets, and custom silver-coated iron buttons to complete their look.

Finished with adjustable waist tabs and a leather neck tag, whether you pair these two together for the ultimate Canadian tux or spread out the break-in period for maximum fade savoring, for denim pros and newbies alike, there is something for everyone in Samurai’s new Indigo Plus series.
