An impressive fleet of 112 yachts from 30 countries commenced the 45th running of the Rolex Middle Sea Race on Saturday 19 October. Founded in 1968 and partnered by Rolex since 2002, the event - organized by the Royal Malta Yacht Club - is revered as one of the world’s great offshore races. Featuring two active volcanoes – Etna and Stromboli – the 606-nautical mile (1,122 kilometres) race course comprises an anti-clockwise circumnavigation of Sicily and is considered one of the most beautiful in sailing. Awarded to the winning boat on IRC corrected time, the event’s main prize is the highly coveted Rolex Middle Sea Race Trophy. Discover more https://on.rolex.com/4eV6U44
