Oscar Isaac is one of those guys who tends to keep it low-key, even when he's in the thick of promoting a movie. So it should come as no surprise that when Isaac stepped out in NYC yesterday to talk to SiriusXM about his new project, Triple Frontier, he opted for something subtle, but still very stylish: a black suede trucker jacket.
The jacket itself is by Mr Porter's in-house label, Mr P., and grafts the trucker details you know and love—chest pockets, metal shank buttons, and the like—onto an entirely elevated fabrication. It's a luxurious, but still hard-wearing, take on a classic piece that'll never go out of style.

Here's the thing about pieces like this: While the initial price tag might cause a little anxiety (and reasonably so), when you break down all the use you'll get out of the thing, it tends to be a much better investment than a cheaper, trend-driven piece that you'll only wear a few times. Does that mean you shouldn't try new things? Not at all! But being mindful of that kind of fashion-centric cost/benefit analysis certainly can't hurt.
So let's do the math on Oscar Isaac's jacket. High-end construction + classic shape + goes-with-everything color = a pretty sound purchase that'll still be in rotation years from now. Okay, fine. I'm not really a numbers guy. But it's still a great jacket. 10 out of 10.
