Kingpins Trend Direction

Denim Dudes Amy Leverton and Shannon Reddy were live in Amsterdam Oct 19-20 to present the newest Kingpins SS 2024 Trend Presentation. The duo was back at it again sharing their insights and predictions with the Kingpins audience about where denim is headed — from fabrics to color to silhouettes.

If you missed their presentation or want to review it in depth, it’s available to purchase as a PDF download. In this comprehensive 89-page report, Denim Dudes takes a deep dive into the cultural, creative and consumer shifts currently affecting our denim market. The report provides guidance for the supply chain — from mill to customer — including darkened Summer palettes and rebellious realism, as well as hedonistic pop culture and the latest iteration of the ’00s trend. Look for insight into silhouette, wash and styling on a product level through to consumer values, as well as brand strategy and actionable intelligence for denim makers.

  • The Last Tourist – The Last Tourist explores the concept of culture, tradition, authenticity and respect when it comes to all aspects of our lives from travel through to consumption. When exploring creativity and inspiration, fashion has borrowed from other societies and customs, reclaiming and reframing them through a western lens.

  • X-S – Nostalgia for the early internet era continues through a more inclusive and exploratory lens, encouraging a generation of digital natives to embrace a new hyper pop aesthetic. It’s a look that is being embraced across art and fashion like style of Gen-Z favorite brands like Marc Jacobs’ Heaven and Ashley Williams.

  • Burned Out – Burned Out represents a dark, rebellious reaction to our current ideology, where current capitalist structures, systems of oppression and environmental injustices are being explored through the rise in alternative media sources. This story acknowledges the need for a new approach whilst being real about the current dark mood of our times.

  • Ethos – Ethos pushes last season’s Softly story into more spiritual and ground-breaking territory. OBJECTS IV LIFE Using fashion as a means of education, activism, scientific advancement and ancient discovery we see brands creating new ways of living in today’s world and leading the way to a better future.

The complete SS 2024 forecast with 89 pages of trend content – including key collections, styling, design details and research & inspirations – is available to purchase now. The Trend Direction content is a digital file delivered directly to your email upon purchase.
