Brian Chontosh, Navy Cross Recipient



Brian Chontosh is a Marine’s Marine. After his platoon was ambushed during the 2003 invasion of Iraq, he lead an aggressive counterattack.


After running out of ammo he picked up discarded enemy weapons to continue fighting.


He received the Navy Cross for his heroic actions that day. Chontosh later returned to Iraq and fought in the second battle of Fallujah, otherwise known as Operation Phantom Fury.


His story is one of courage and perseverance and embodies the spirit of the Marine Corps.
